Our school's Year 1 to 8 classes attended a performance by a pair of experienced puppeteers. The performance was called Tawhaki and the 3 baskets. The students really enjoyed the show, it was interactive and informative. Also Jeffery and Whaitaima taught the audience the Numba Haka. This was lots of fun and very useful too - the teachers will be able to use it in future. The first photos in the slideshow show the students performing the Numba Haka. They then asked if any of the children knew how to count to ten in other languages. Paul, Aubrey, Ganda and Tristan counted in Filipino. Neil, Yaksh and Khanak counted in Hindi. Paige, Cecilia and Ezra counted in Japanese. Mihihea, Myah,Lily, Emily and Cecilia counted in Spanish. Check out the photos in the slideshow.
